Abstract
Summary Decreased blood sugar values accompany ketosis in cattle even when the ketosis is not sufficiently severe to be detected by clinical symptoms. The significance of the low blood sugars and causative factors in relation to ketosis is discussed. Acidosis is not an invariable accompaniment of ketosis in dairy cattle.
