Abstract
1. 1. Blood proteins from five species of Darwin's finches (Geospizinae) have been examined by starch gel electrophoresis. 2. 2. “General” proteins are almost identical in all these species. Esterases and lactate dehydrogenase show intraspecific variation but most variants are not species-specific. 3. 3. The evolutionary significance of these data is discussed.
