Abstract

Introduction Little information is available on circadian variation in blood pressure profile in acute coronary syndrome patients. Objectives We aimed to define prognostic value of blood pressure (BP) variation activity/rest in the last 4h during a 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) in patients admitted with an acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Methods Eighty patients (mean age 73,6±11years) consecutively admitted with ACS were considered for this analysis. Clinical data including metabolic syndrome criteria based on ATPIII, drugs administrated, laboratory blood test including reactive C-protein and microalbuminuria were obtained.
