Blood plasma protein determination has become practically a routine procedure in diagnostic studies in medical clinics and in our cardiovascular service.Whipple1has summarized the data on the production and utilization, interrelations and modern concepts of plasma protein metabolism. He pointed out that food proteins, after digestion, yielded amino acids which were absorbed from the intestinal tract and carried to the liver. The liver is strategically situated and of sufficient size to perform most of the...Bibliography1. WHIPPLE GH: Hemoglobin and plasma proteins: their production, utilization and interrelation, Am.
