Abstract

Type O lung allografts may be allocated to either blood type identical (type O) or compatible (Non-O) candidates. Type O candidates, however, may only in conventional transplantation receive allografts from identical (Type O) donors. We tested the hypothesis that the current implementation of the LAS may not appropriately allocate allografts to type O candidates, given that the pool of potential donors is smaller.
