Abstract

1. 1. In Orconectes propinquus and Cambarus robustus the glucose level rises above that of intermolt during the premolt period. Following ecdysis it falls and subsequently rises again to the intermolt level. 2. 2. No significant differences were found between males and females, nor between sexually competent and non-reproductive males. 3. 3. Comparison of form I and form II males of O. immunis and . virilis showed no significant differences. 4. 4. O. propinquus blood glucose levels rose steadily through the early summer reaching highest levels in late July. 5. 5. Chromatographic analysis failed to reveal any sugars other than glucose in the blood of seven species of crayfish.
