A perturbation solution of the flow of blood in the microcirculation by taking into account the influence of slip velocity at the membrane surface is presented. It is assumed that the exchange of fluid across the capillary wall obeys Starling’s hypothesis, that is, the rate of flow per unit area through the wall surface is proportional to the difference between the pressure of the fluid within and outside of the capillary. The expressions for the velocity and pressure distributions within the tube are obtained. Discussions are made from a physiological point of view. The effect of slip parameter is discussed with the help of graphs.
