Abstract

Summary The erythrocyte cholinesterase activity of 245 sheep and 229 cattle has been determined. Its seasonal variation in sheep has been shown to be small. The effect of diazinon and crufomate on the erythrocyte cholinesterase of sheep and cattle respectively has been estimated, and it is concluded that measurement of the activity of this enzyme is a useful aid to the diagnosis of poisoning by organophosphorus pesticidcs.
