Abstract

Blockchain technology has recently paved a significant role for a broad range of uses where data distribution and sharing are the primary issues. This ledger technology enables the safe interchange of medical data in the healthcare industry. The primary goal of this study is to examining the research on blockchain technology utilization in the healthcare industry. The literature was reviewed on popular databases like IEEE Xplore, Science Direct and Google Scholar. The major findings of this study are that majority of the scientists are using the Ethereum platform for blockchain simulations that suffers from scalability issues. This study also found that still there is a need to explore IoT and blockchain based healthcare solutions on Hyperledger fabric.
