Abstract

With the emergence of big data, data security is one of the most widely discussed topics nowadays among the research world and security experts. Kerberos Protocol is relied upon by the big data systems like Apache Hadoop for user identification and authentication. Drawbacks like single point of failure, replay attacks, time synchronization problems are yet to be dealt with appropriately in the Kerberized Hadoop clusters. This paper proposes a novel approach based on blockchain technology, digital signatures and threshold ElGamal Cryptosystem to address the problem of single point of failure.
