Abstract

Indian courts fail to achieve the highest court excellence due to delays in the delivery of justice. Despite the several attempts by the Government of India, providing timely yet quality justice to the litigants remains a major challenge. An analytical study on the aptness of blockchain technology for decentralizing the judicial system is carried out in this paper. It further accentuates administrative complexity and the lack of accountability involved in comprising all the stakeholders of the judicial system on a single blockchain. With the aim to ensure accountability by re-engineering the judicial administrative process, this paper proposes a pragmatic solution for synergistic superlative judicial decentralization. In this context, a panacea to deal with the delay in justice delivery through a novel interoperable blockchain framework customized to meet the exigency of the judicial system focusing on court excellence performance parameters is presented. The proposed solution holds the functioning of the judiciary intact whilst assuring celerity, accountability, integrity, and transparency.
