Abstract

We investigate a constant modulus based criterion for the blind suppression of multiple access interference (MAI) in multicarrier code division multiple access (MC CDMA) systems. The method, termed linearly constrained constant modulus (LCCM), presents the same performance as minimum mean square error (MMSE) receivers with the only requirement of a rough estimate of the desired user code and timing. Therefore, it overcomes the main limitation of existing blind approaches based on the linearly constrained minimum variance (LCMV) criterion which are tightly dependent on this estimate.
