Abstract

Blind multiuser detection, an effective method to mitigate multiple access interference (MAI) in direct-sequence code-division multiple-access (DS/CDMA) systems, has inspired a significant interest recently. Although the previously published algorithms such as recursive least-squares (RLS) work fairly well, the performance can be further improved. In this paper, we propose a novel blind multiuser detection algorithm based on Chebyshev approximation, which significantly outperforms RLS detector with almost the same complexity. This is demonstrated by computer simulations for both synchronous and asynchronous CDMA systems through AWGN and slow fading channels.
