Abstract

In this paper, two designs of blind interference alignment (BIA) with space-time codes are proposed for a two-user interference channel, where each transmitter has four antennas and each receiver has one pattern reconfigurable antenna that can switch among several preset modes. The proposed BIA schemes can align and cancel the interference by controlling the switching pattern of the reconfigurable antenna at the receiver. To achieve the spatial diversity and reconfigurable antenna pattern diversity, two space-time coded BIA schemes are proposed. The BIA with Alamouti code has low decoding complexity and 2/3 rate at the cost of full diversity loss whereas the BIA with threaded algebraic space-time code achieves full diversity and 4/5 rate with high decoding complexity.
