Abstract

Scanning radar system has significant and extensive applications, such as surveillance, autonomous landing of aircraft, navigation, guidance. However, scanning radar system suffers troublesomely antenna-induced poor angular resolution. In this paper, an improved scheme of angular superresolution based on blind deconvolution for scanning radar system is proposed. Firstly, radar received signal in azimuth is modeled as the convolution of the antenna pattern and targets' scattering coefficient approximately. Then, principle of angular superresolution algorithm is deduced. The improved algorithm can restore targets' information more correctly than traditional one based on maximum likelihood. Finally, Simulations and real data processing validate the effectiveness of the method.
