Abstract

The problem of bandwidth efficient data transmission in multi-sensor OFDM systems is considered. Contrary to the mono-sensor systems, the effects of frequency selective fading may be alleviated in the multi-sensor systems without using a wireless overhead due to the space diversity. A modulation scheme is proposed which allows to improve the reliability of data transmission in fading multipath environments and perform an accurate channel equalization with a minimal excess bandwidth and no substantial training. The numerical study confirms the efficiency of this method in such bandwidth expensive applications as wireless asynchronous transfer mode (WATM) networking.
