Abstract

Background: Vaginal ultrasound-guided drainage of ascites and use of prophylactic anticoagulation have been utilized in the management of severe ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). Vaginal paracentesis offers immediate symptomatic relief and improves clinical parameters, and anticoagulation is likely to reduce the incidence of thromboembolic phenomena reported in approximately 0.8% of these cases.
