Abstract

Abstract We herein report a novel synthesis of black TiO2 nanoparticles by using a microwave-induced plasma over Ti complex aqueous solution. The resultant TiO2 nanoparticles showed very strong reflectance over the whole visible light region. Detailed HAADF-STEM analysis of the obtained particles revealed that this plasma method enables doping of W ions inside the TiO2 crystal structure.
