Abstract

Black patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) were less likely than White or Hispanic patients to receive medication treatments such as buprenorphine after an acute event related to opioid use, a study of Medicare claims data published in the New England Journal of Medicine has found. These racial disparities persisted over the course of the study period from 2016‐2019, the investigators reported.
