Black holes and naked singularities inthe low-energy limit of string gravity with a modulus field

Abstract

We show that the black hole solutions of the effectivestring theory action, where one-loop effects that couplethe moduli to gravity via a Gauss-Bonnet term are takeninto account, admit primary scalar hair. The requirementof absence of naked singularities imposes an upper boundon the scalar charges.
