Abstract

Over the past decade, more and more high-redshift quasars with >108 solar-mass black holes (BHs) are observed. These high-mass BHs challenge the BH growth model, and require massive seed BH at redshift 35. In this work, we investigate the growth of high-redshift BHs, with a focus on the impact of angular momentum of surrounding supplied gas. We find that, for the observed 109 solar-mass BH, its seed BH at z=35 should be fairly massive. Applications of our work to the formation channel of seed BH are discussed.
