Abstract

Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) is highly vulnerable to attacks due to infrastructure as well as wireless communication. One of the major attacks in MANET is the black hole attack, this attack is classified as one of the Denial of Service (DoS) attacks. This paper proposes an enhanced approach using the AODV protocol to prevent the effect of the black hole attack in MANET. The results show that the proposed approach has a better result than the existing one in terms of overhead, packet delivery ratio, and end-to-end delay.
