AbstractElectricity (MIC: 7.1 SIC: 4911 NAIC:221121)Black Hills is an energy and communications company with three segments. Co.'s Wholesale Energy group generates and sells electricity, produces coal, natural gas and crude oil primarily in the Rocky Mountain region, and markets and transports fuel products. Co.'s Electric Utility group engages in the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity to about 61,000 customers in South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana. Co.'s Communications group offers broadband telecommunications services, including local and long distance telephone, expanded cable television, cable modem Internet access and high‐speed data and video services to residential and business customers in part of South Dakota.
