Bittacidae of Yunnan, China and adjacent regions, with first discovery of male Bittacus malaisei Tjeder, 1973 (Mecoptera)

Abstract

Summary A checklist and a distributional map are provided for eight Bittacidae species from Yunnan, China and adjacent regions. Previously, the species Bittacus malaisei Tjeder, 1973 was only known from the female holotype from northeastern Myanmar. I herein report the male of B. malaisei for the first time from Pianma, Yunnan, with its morphological characters illustrated and described in detail. The species number of Bittacidae is updated to six in Yunnan.
