Bisthienylethenes containing an imidazole bridge unit and their Ir(iii) complexes: influence of substituent groups on photochromism and luminescence

Abstract

This work reports the syntheses of tBuLH and tBuLMeH, and their complexes [Ir(dfppy)2(tBuL)]·2CH3OH (1) and Ir(dfppy)2(tBuLMe)] (2), and the influence of substituent groups –C(CH3)3 and –CH3 on their photochromic and luminescence behaviors.
