Abstract
The title compound, (C16H36N)2[CdBr4]·2C7H8, consists of a [CdBr4]2− anion possessing \overline{4} crystallographic symmetry and two tetra-n-butylammonium cations of twofold symmetry accompanied by two toluene molecules disordered around a twofold axis. The anion is enclosed within a cage formed of four cations and four solvent molecules.
