Abstract

It is proposed in this study to use the iterative physical optics (IPO) in conjunction with the physical theory of diffraction (PTD) to improve accuracy in predicting bistatic radar cross section (RCS) of electrically large perfectly conducting plate geometries. The improvements achieved by using PTD to include effects of edge diffractions are demonstrated in comparison with the results of the method of moments (MoM).
