Abstract
The bisphosphonates are a new class of drugs which have been developed in the past two decades for use in various diseases of bone, tooth, and calcium metabolism. This review covers the chemistry, the mechanisms of action, and the clinical application of these compounds in tumor-induced bone disease and hypercalcemia.
