Abstract

Abstract Iron containing bismuth titanates with pyrochlore structure Bi1.6FexTi2O7−δ, where 0.08≤x≤0.4, were obtained by ceramic procedure. The results of bough pycnometric density of the pyrochlores and of X-ray powder diffraction structure refinement points to the preference for iron atoms to occupy the Bi3+-sites. Electric and magnetic properties were studied for single phase pyrochlores based on bismuth titanates. The magnetic ordering was studied by the methods of Mossbauer spectroscopy and magnetic susceptibility.
