Abstract

AbstractThe properties of bismuth and arsenic electrodes have been examined regarding their use for pH, measurement and as indicators in acid‐base titrations. It is shown that bismuth rod electrodes act as pH indicators over the range pH 5.0‐8.0. Arsenic electrodes arc retable over the range p,H 3.4‐9.0. Both electrodes may be used for titration work. The bismuth electrode is the more reliable as an end‐point indicator.
