Abstract

A new bis-iridoid, pterhookeroside (1) was isolated from the roots of Pterocephalus hookeri along with three known iridoids (2–4) and five lignans (5–9). The structure elucidation of the isolates was accomplished by extensive 1D and 2D-NMR experiments as well as HRESI-MS. The bis-iridoid and lignans were encountered for the first time in the genus Pterocephalus.
