Abstract
Bis-aqua-cobalt(III)-tetramethylchiroporphyrin perchlorate [(TMCP)Co(H 2O) 2]ClO 4, was prepared and characterized by 1H NMR and X-ray crystallography. The structure shows unusual features, including a highly ruffled macrocycle, and very strong intra- and inter-molecular hydrogen bonds. Crystal data for [(TMCP)Co(H 2O) 2]ClO 4·MeOH·3H 2O: C 50.5H 71ClCoN 4O 19 orthorhombic, space group P2 12 12 1, a=11.7432(7), b=15.7240(9), c=29.720(2) Å, U=5487.7(6) Å 3, Z=4. Full-matrix least-squares refinement of positional and thermal parameters, using 9641 independent reflections with I>2 σ( I) led to R 1=0.0568.
