Abstract
The title compound, (C12H11N3)2[Mo8O26], was prepared by the hydrothermal method. The centrosymmetric β-octamolybdate anions are linked to form a three-dimensional structure by the 2-(4-pyridinio)benzimidazolium cations through N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
