Abstract
The ecological crisis of today has reached an undeniable stage. The failure to take steps to prevent the current ecological crisis from turning into an ecological disaster is being discussed in many fields of science and other disciplines and the consequences of possible destruction are thus being revealed from a variety of perspectives. Literature science also contributes to these studies through eco-critical studies. However, the contribution of literature is not limited to the scientific field. Through fictional texts, literature also uses its own means to speak about the current ecological crisis and possible ecological destruction. At this point, fictional texts, which can be defined as ecological dystopia or eco-dystopia, are fictionalized as future imaginations that describe the destruction caused by the ecological crisis. Köpekli Çocuklar Gecesi written by Oya Baydar is more than an eco-dystopia due to the reasons for ecological destruction in the novel having been interpreted from an eco-Marxist perspective. This study aims to reveal eco-Marxist traces that are effective in fictionalizing Köpekli Çocuklar Gecesi as an eco-dystopian text and to examine the text in this context, thus reaching both the sources of the eco-dystopian novel concept, the possibilities of eco-fiction and the applicability of eco-criticism to the literary text.
