Abstract

The authors have investigated the changes in lysosomal acid phosphatase, ß-glucuronidase and leucine-aminopeptidase activity of the serum and liver homogenate in sublethal tourniquet shock in rats and that under the combined effect of shock and different doses of chloroquine. The tourniquet shock induced increased enzymes activity was significantly diminished after 5 mg/kg chloroquine pretreatment, while 15 mg/kg chloroquine has been found to elevate the shock elicited increased activity of lysosomal enzymes.
