Abstract

The microbial transformations of (+)- and (−)-bornyl acetate were investigated using the plant parasitic fungus, Glomerella cingulata. As a result, (+)- and (−)-bornyl acetate were converted to (+)- and (−)-5-exo-hydroxybornyl acetate, (+)- and (−)-5-oxobornyl acetate and (+)- and (−)-borneol respectively. The structures of the metabolic products were determined by spectroscopic data. © 2001 Society of Chemical Industry
