Abstract

An electron microscopic comparison was made of the cytological responses of Saccharomyces cerevisiae to growth factor deficiency. Ultrathin sections of exponential deficient cells revealed a thickening of cell wall and a conversion of central vacuole into a vacuolar system. Common alteration in cytology of deficiency stationary cells in condensed vacuolar material.
