Abstract
Growth of cultured excised tomato roots in the presence of 14C-mevalonic acid lactone results in labelling of tomatine. In the main axis of the root, incorporation was greatest in the apical meristematic region. Tomatine was present in equal concentrations in all parts of the cultured root system.
