Abstract

This paper briefly discusses the uncertainties associated with predictions made using biosphere models in assessments of radioactive waste repositories. Typical models, processes influencing transport and accumulation of radionuclides and the subsequent pathways evaluation are described. Reducible and non-reducible uncertainties are presented as well as some conclusions about the predictive power of the models.
