Abstract

Biopolymers have been attracting attention as a useful building block for biocompatible and bioresorbable electronics due to their nontoxicity and solution processability. Specifically, various biopolymers have been reported as a high capacitance gate dielectric for organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) due to their high densities of polar and aromatic groups and could enhance the charge carrier mobility of the OTFTs. In this paper, we review the biopolymer-based gate dielectric layer as a high capacitance gate insulator for high performance OTFTs.
