Abstract

Since our last report on biomedical engineering (BME) education and training in Hong Kong which was presented at the 6th Asian-Pacific Conference on Medical and Biological Engineering (APCMBE 2005) more than one and half years ago, there have been significant developments in this field in Hong Kong. This paper gives an update of the status of BME education and training in Hong Kong. It also looks into some critical issues in a wider context. The experience gained and lessons learnt with regard to BME education and training in Hong Kong may prove to be useful for BME developments in other parts of the world.
