Abstract

You have to try hard, after reading this book, to say what use it would be to anyone. Perhaps to the medical scientist or engineer, it will show what a world of competences are involved in the work being done on biomaterials. Or to one in the field, let us say of replacement of bone, it may be interesting to have an overview of such allied fields as replacement of teeth, or skin. For these purposes, the book will serve, if not well, passably, but don't expect an extended tour. Many large provinces are referred to but not explored.
