Abstract
Biomass-derived carbon materials (BCMs), due to their earth-abundant, low-cost, structural diversity, renewable, and sustainable environment-friendly, have been widely used as electrocatalysts for rechargeable Zn-air batteries. In this minireview, we summarized the advanced progress of the preparation and application of BCMs in Zn-air batteries, with a special focus on synthetic strategies for BCMs with different dimensions. Then, the relationship between catalyst structure and catalytic performance in Zn-air batteries was discussed. Finally, the existing challenges and prospects are discussed concerning the synthesis of BCMs. This work will inspire the future application of BCMs in rechargeable Zn-air batteries.
