Abstract

Experimental research in animals is justified due to its expected predictability for conditions in other species, primarily human beings. Only a small number of animal experiments are carried out for the benefit of the animal species involved, thereby yielding results that do not need to be extrapolated. Examples are experiments undertaken in the study of laboratory animal diseases and domestic animal diseases.
