Abstract

House dust mite(HDM) is a common cause of perennial allergic rhinitis(AR) associated with the IL-33 induced release of Th2 cytokines and altered IL-10 profiles. Endotoxins found in HDM feces may further stimulate IL-6 and TNF-α production. This study investigates whether the newly validated HDM Environmental Exposure Unit(EEU) can be used to assess biological responses in HDM-allergic and non-allergic participants.
