Abstract
' The study of the interaction between electromagnetic energy and living beings involve the aspects of both physical and biological sciences that are not completely understood. Electromagnetic energy, one of the basic forces of the universe, displays dual properties (particle as well as wave). Today we generate, transmit, receive, convert and use this energy in thousands of ways. The advent of the generation, transmission and residential as well as industrial use of electricity for power, heating and lighting, has brought about far greater and increasing exposure to power frequency magnetic fields over the past 120 years. It is reported that these magnetic fields pose significant health effects on human beings. Biological effects of magnetic fields are a major area of research since last few decades. This book presents a holistic study on the biological effects of power frequency magnetic fields using plant, animal and cell culture models. '
