Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of biological amniotic membrane transplantation for the moderate or severe ocular burn. Methods Thirty-eight eyes of 33 cases with moderate or severe ocular chemical burn and heat burn were treated with biological amniotic membrane transplantation. Results After the operation, no patient had amniotic membrane transplantation rejection, infection, corneosclera solve or perforation. The follow-up time was 3 months. Among 29 eyes with degree Ⅱ~Ⅲ ocular burns, nebula occurred in 5 eyes, macula occurred in 3 eyes, corneal neovascularization occurred in 2 eyes. And no leukoma was observed. Among 9 eyes of degree IV ocular burn, macula occurred in 4 eyes, leukoma occurred in 2 eye, and 3 eyes had different degrees of corneal neovascularization. Visual acuity were improved to different extent in all patients. Conclusion Biological amniotic membrane transplantation is effective for the moderate or severe ocular burn.
