Abstract

Introduction: Bioimpedance vector analysis (BIVA) is a reliable tool to assess body composition and hydration. In particular, the BIVA-derived phase angle (PhA) is an indicator of cellular health, where higher values reflect higher cellularity, cell membrane integrity and better cell function. The aim of our study was to evaluate whether preoperative BIVA parameters may predict the occurrence of liver surgery-related morbidity.
