Abstract
Biogas energy generated from anaerobic digestion of animal waste is widely used in rural areas in China. There are a total of 4.5 million digesters in operation, from the small single family type to large community and industrial applications. The network for management and technical service at the national and provincial levels is well organized. A full-scale poultry waste digester for 30,000 laying hens is under study at Shenyang Agricultural University.
