Abstract

Advances in recent years have seen the rapid evolution of biofuels to replace conventional fossil fuels. Biofuels are not only sustainable and renewable, but they also create a supplement for the other reserves of fuels. However, despite the advancement in the use and development of biofuels, some limitations exist that have limited its large-scale applications, especially in certain parts of the world. This chapter presents the current challenges facing the production and use of biofuels alongside the possible solutions to these challenges. Limitations with the use of biofuel that might ensue with the production and use of biofuel in the future were also discussed.
